Department of Archaeology, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, will organize World Conference on Islam, Peace and Buddhism in collaboration with Society of Asian Civilization in the first week of March, 2014.

It was decided in a high level meeting, chaired by the Vice Chancellor AWKUM and a renowned Archaeologist Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali. The meeting was also attended by the President Society of Asian Civilization Pakistan Dr. Z. A. Qureshi, Prof. Dr. Zahoor-ul-Haq, Dr. Jehanzeb, Director Finance Shafiq Ullah Kaka Kheil and Curator Meher Tabaan.

In the conference, religious scholars from all over the world will be invited and a discussion in relation to the topic of the conference would take place.

Prof. Dr. Ihsan Ali said that such conferences will open a door for religious awareness which is need of the hour. He further said that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and it preaches us brotherhood as well as Islam strictly believes in giving minorities their due rights.
